International Practice - Multilateralism and Human Rights

International Human Rights Practice (PIDH), in partnership with IIRESODH, is the consolidation of the organization's international capacity and the multilateral platform for the defense of Human Rights in the region. We create strategic bridges between grassroots movements, the RINP, Constituents, and our office in Geneva to escalate cases and agendas to the Universal Human Rights System.

It's about

It is a multilateral architecture that combines our work in Mexico and our regional alliances to:

1.Identify, document, and bring cases of grassroots organizations and social movement leaders from Mexico and the region to international human rights bodies.
2.Generate alliances with international organizations and other key actors to promote the defense and monitoring of progressive agendas at a global level.
3.Serve as a two-way channel to bring the best practices of legal and international policy advocacy to Mexico.

We care for

The human rights crisis and democratic regression are problems that demand a response that transcends national borders. Impunity at the local level requires us to escalate pressure and coercion to international forums. This project gives coherence and greater consequence to all our work.

We want to achieve

Through International Practice, we are looking for:

1. Transnational justice:Achieve the resolution and reparation of emblematic cases of human rights violations in Mexico and the region, overcoming local impunity.
2. Normative influence:Position Practice and Mexican civil society as central actors in the discussion and generation of international standards on climate justice, rights of vulnerable groups, and the defense of democracy.
3. Defense infrastructure:Consolidate a multilateral infrastructure that guarantees the continuous defense of democratic institutions and human rights, regardless of the national political situation.
