Workshops for the University Legal Meeting of the SCJN

Specialized training initiative in collaboration with the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN). We invited key allies (such as Centro PRODH and Oxfam) to conduct workshops for law students. The objective was to connect university legal practice with the priority agendas of progressive civil society, preparing the new generation of lawyers.

It was about

It was a training alliance with leading organizations such as the PRODH Center and Oxfam. We designed and led a series of workshops aimed at undergraduate law students. The content focused on the application of law in social advocacy, addressing highly relevant progressive agendas:

  1. Rights and Crisis: Serious human rights violations crisis, care agenda, and climate crisis.

  2. Advocacy Models: Presentation of the work of Práctica and other leading organizations in the application of law from civil society.

The purpose was to provide future lawyers with a practical vision of the need to apply their knowledge in the defense of rights outside the traditional sphere.

We care about your

We cared because there is a critical gap in legal university education that disconnects law students from the most relevant and urgent social agendas in the country. Future lawyers need to understand how to apply the law in defending rights from civil society and the importance of their role. By exposing them to the crisis of serious human rights violations, the care agenda, and the climate crisis, we ensure that the next generation of jurists has a progressive, informed, and strategic vision of their profession.

We achieved

We managed to create a direct link between the academic elite and social movements, which resulted in:

  1. Strategic Awareness:Law students understood the relevance of applying legal knowledge in solving complex public problems and impacting civil society.

  2. Strengthening the Network:Collaboration with organizations like Centro PRODH and Oxfam consolidated a training network oriented towards progressive advocacy.

  3. Human Capital:The foundations were laid for future lawyers to be seen as key players in the defense and promotion of progressive agendas, nurturing the human capital of the sector.
